And this is my next post on “Mahabharata”. This is an extract from “Santi Parva” from the great epic “Mahabharata”. These are the teachings of Bheesma to Yudhishthira in his death bed.
A few tenets are pithily put here for reflection
- Truth is all powerful. The adherer to truth is never a failure in life.
- He who wants to be successful in life should practise self-control, humility and righteousness.
- Man should neither be too soft nor too stiff. He should adjust himself to circumstances.
- Love is constructive and all powerful. It reclaims the fallen ones.
To be frank there are still a lot of points which i didn’t understand.

Its just the 4th day of my Christmas vacation. I am feeling so bored to be here. I had gone to my aunts house yesterday night to get some books. I went in search of technical books but then i ended up in two books “Mahabharata” and “Ramayana”. I had heard the stories of both Mahabharata and Ramayana but not read them before. This version of these great epics were really small books of around 250 pages each. So I thought i will read them in my vacation. I started reading Mahabharata and i found this extract so intersting, so i am posting this.
